I stopped feeling alive after I left you behind

so I walked around life wondering if you'd give me a sign

darkness settled around my black hole and I was drifting away

slipping out of your hands more and more every single day

but you never let go, you never gave up on me because you knew

that when I was ready I would run right back to you

I started to wonder where you were and why I couldn't see

but when I opened my eyes I found the sign waititng there for me

it was you dying on the cross with bleeding hands and feet

nails piercing your skin and scars from where you were beat

thorns ingraved in your head as the blood runs down your face

people mocking you and even now your pain I can not trace

cause I could never understand, no I could never understand



when I left you my lungs stopped wanting to breathe

and I had nothing left to live for deep inside of me

so many times I thought I was going to break and fall apart

it never occured to me to turn to you to ask for a new start

my sky turned to grey and my sunshine turned to rain

my happiness turned to tears and my smile turned to pain

but you refused to leave my side for one moment in time

you just kept trying to reach me and show me the sign

and my lungs wanted to breathe like back then

the sky was blue like before and I could see clearly

and I was with the one who I love so dearly

an my God I wanted to praise you like never before

and I wanted to worship you so much more
