When my mind takes flight

The feeling of not being able to sleep at night
Because your mind has took flight
It's not off in la la land
It's in the deepest of the deep thoughts
The what ifs and wishes
Could of's, but didn't
They cause unwanted feelings
They make you stare at the dark ceilings
Killing every bit of happiness you once felt
Falling into a dark evil spell
You can no longer move on
Your energy is now all gone
Your stuck on why
Why it doesn't seem right
I'm sorry you can't change that thought tonight
The past is the past
So please don't think to fast
Or your mind could decide to take another flight, tonight

Author's Notes/Comments:

My anxiety inspired me to write this poem about what it's like to over think things and not be able to sleep because of them.
Enjoy(:

The More You Write

the fewer the usage of cliches. Hard images are easier: words you can see and your reader can see. - slc
