Just Like The Rest

Vanity is a part of our little world

Infesting every boy and every girl

Diseased by the instinct to look their best

But in the same instance stand out from the rest

Searching for some true meaning in life

And desperately trying to resist the knife

Staring at a faint reflection of nothing

And searching their ignorant hearts for one thing

They all trust in their hearts like it doesn't lie

All seeking something that's destined to hide

And destroying themselves to find the truth

Abandon the lies and extinguish their youth

For youth, you know is ignorance

To overcome that takes confidence

That of which they mostly don't possess

Because they are in fact just like the rest
