The Beginning and End of Existence at 4 a.m.

OLD ARCHIVE

As I took my last step on earth

I gazed out into eternity

I felt the warm wind blowing

From over the ebonied sea

A midnight mist was present

Illumed by just the moon

I could see the end of the world

On this lovely night of June

What is there, beyond the mist

Beyond the black, beyond my sight?

But a vast wall of nothingness

As wide as imagination and of infinite height

The rolling seascape

Had assumed the form of Leshrac's path

What was once a mirror of blue

Had taken a tarry bath

So as I took my last step on earth

I greeted eternity

I felt the warm wind blowing

It touched the soul of me
