Broken Angel

You were my world, my everything,

The only song I longed to sing;

The music, the melody of my soul,

You loved me, and you made me whole.

But now I’m an angel with a broken wing,

I cannot fly, I keep on falling;

The wounds I carry keep on bleeding,

I wish my lungs would stop their breathing.

You were my world, my everything,

The harp whose strings I loved to bring;

You were the one who lifted me,

The first to show me what love could be.

Now I’m an angel with a broken wing,

Still existing, but far from living;

You gave me color when I was lifeless,

Now I fade into quiet darkness.

You were my world, my everything,

My song, my harp, my fragile wing;

You were my heaven, my everything,

Now I’m just an angel with a broken wing.
