BEATEN BY FATE

When dreams are shattered,
And time looms ahead,
Like eternity stretched before the eyes...
Whenever you gaze...
Then, slowly, everything unfolds,
The stark uncertainties of everything,
And uncontrollable emotions become tears,
Creasing down the face like slow streams;
All that was just a while ago,
A pathway to a rosy future,
Seems blocked by fate's threatening spears.
You wanted her so badly and so much,
Yet you were not meant to be lucky as such,
And grief stuck you and stole away your cheers.
Weep not O poet, accept what has come,
And vanish somewhere for pain's freedom.

Beaten by fate

Even though this poem was written years ago, it stills remains very touching.
A very beautiful, well written poem by a super poet. hbw
