RAPTUROUS MELODY (REMEMBERING DAPHNE)

Snow melts into springs

As a scene reverberates

where is harmony?

Green velvet gown

And ruffled auburn hair

Gaze sleepy and misty

Harmony everywhere...

Daphne ruled my heart

And no season can match

The power which her love

Had over me.

Sombre, wise, quiet

Demure yet so witty

O rapturous melody

Who was called Daphne.

ah but alas I've found
another about the fair damsel
who's memory once intoxicated
thine eyes
'tis a beautiful piece
more cherished
than love's sweet cries
written in gossamer draped
memory
hung upon a wall
separating the beautiful then
from the much later days so terribly
dim
as a brief inoculation
to the pain
that once had free reign
in thine wretchedly trampled heart
what reader could not too wring
such meager dose of joy
from such a tirelessly sought
beloved memory's being
love's faithful servant
I say
come now
rest your heart against
a much fonder love's day................
you know who!........ so why type it?
