TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS

There is this world that is seen by the eyes,

A world that is mostly treachery and lies,

A world where lust, greed, hatred and envy,

Are destroying the happiness of many.

And there is this world that is seen by the heart,

Where virtues abound and love shines bright,

A world whose water is clean and grass is green,

A world where souls share thoughts that are not mean.

Vainglorious scenes that are seen by the eyes,

Peaceful and lasting that are seen by the heart,

The purest fountains spring, the light is a balm,

Where bliss is recognized by content and calm.

Trapped in this quagmire like frogs in a pond,

Are men and women with selfish aims and wishes,

Serene is my realm, the domain that I see,

Closing my eyes, the heart rejoices in glee.

I so agree
this world is not
for those hearts so free
each day lived
upon such negative plain
more and more wisdom
arrives certainly
yet more and more virtue
gets slain
rabid dogs they howl
the cowering night
shivers in fright
a new day dawns
and hearts that bled
beg then openly
for some respite
an but then the eyes close
and misery she goes
off for a walk away from
the light
leaving the believers to believe
that God indeed loves the likes
of you and me
and he leaves us not here for no reason
but for the highest level of all love's decree
the supreme evolution of each our thankful souls
so to reiterate
yes, my dearest of all sirs
I Do So Agree!............
you know who!.......so why type it?

of the two worlds you speak of its our inner world always that matters the most. We must fight always to protect it. This poem reminds me of Barry Manilow's song I MADE IT THROUGH THE RAIN which essentially says you must always protect that inner world as it is that valuable to each soul indeed. that song from the first time it came out and I heard it , it really resonated within me just like this poem here of yours today did. Spiritually, I hug you for that my dear, good man.............again, you know who....so why type it?

How wonderfully penned, sadly true. Since the existance of life, there was generous and greed. We in the middle have to maintain the balance so one doesn't ride over the other. Well done. Thank you for sharing. Linda
