A SONG OF YOUTH

Come back again, wherever you are,

Come back again, and do not go,

How much I love you, you know not,

Come back again and stay somehow.

Watching how the sparrow flies,

This heart of mine heaves a sigh,

What if I too had been a bird,

I would have spotted you from the sky.

I wonder how I let you go,

And then I just don't want to know,

The pain has wrecked my whole being,

And has dimmed its inner glow.

The flowers too wait in the lawn,

The pigeons you reared are forlorn,

The plant you carressed so lovingly,

And my heart too are like a wounded fawn.
