Cause & Effect

Who but your love reflected my face on the sliver moon,

made me queen of the sun.

Brought heat that thaw the coldness,

made me the sunshine spreading rays of warmness.

Who but your love made the dream a reality,

My request like an answered prayer.

Gave me the taste of my impossible dreams,

the taste of sweet haven on earth

Poured feeling that caused my drunkenness,

self-abandoned, uproarious laughter.

Who but your love made this feeling a bread of life,

led to my ultimate annihilation.

Made me in control of my ego self,

putting my stupidity on the shelf.

Creating the space inside,

the emptiness for you to enter,

for the two “I” to merge as “One”.

Who but your love transformed

the fire of fury into forbearance,

the darkness of ignorance into knowledge.

Made me see the lion a rabbit,

made me jump in the middle of the fire

thinking I was swimming in the river.

Who but you love made me your garments,

turned the thorn of envy into roses,

the desert sand into gold,

kept me magnetized by my homeland

How could I ever regret,

all what from this love later I learned?

How could I ever in this power have any doubt?
