A lot a sex, a hint of romance
A little affection
A small bit of time.

 

Household chores
Bill paying
And job demands
On the small bit of time.

 

Leave me feeling
Needy
Unsympathic
A burden
On your small bit of time.

 

The softness of a rose petal
That I could lay on my cheek
Smell into my soul
And nurture my heart

 

That was my burden
That was my need
That was what I wanted
And you said deserved

 

A line on a card
A physical proof
"I never knew
Love could be this good."

 

All I wanted was some flowers...
A lot of sex, hint of romance
A little affection
A small bit of time.

Author's Notes/Comments: 

"I never knew
Love could be this good."
I told him this was what my friends husband wrote to her on her flowers...He says"Well they are newlyweds, honey."
And I say "...and we are in the throes of courtship..."  Shouldnt WE be wooing each other with lines of affection? PS In retrospect of a year I realize now he was saying...But honey they are newlyweds...they've made a committment of love to each other  and we have not and never will...

Deborah:
There is NO EXCUSE for the response from your spouse in regards to the others just being newlyweds. For the flame should always be watched so it will not go out-if not watched it WILL flicker out. How true this is!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you for sharing Deborah and try to have a great week. Take care.

A Small Expenditure of Time

A bit. To share a moment of joy. To celebrate each other - to build memories and provide a card and a rose petal is a smal thing that creates great big huge enormous love. I am an incurable romantic. Did he ever get it?
