The One

I see you and I’m in awe

My heart is usually poor

I must have strength

You’re barely arms length

Away from me you remain

I must secretly restrain

I joke through fear

The consequences severe

If you knew, what would you do

Laugh and Mock?

Be in shock?

Tell me you feel the same?

That it’s just a game?

With youth place the blame?

I couldn’t handle the shame

Your eyes a beauty of brown

I maintain my frown

You mustn’t know

I will not show

My feelings I won’t tell

Inside my heart they must dwell

I see you with another

Wanting more to be your lover

Friends we will remain

Not losing you again
