A Bag of Pain

What we want is never what we get

And what we have we tend to forget

God only gives what He knows we need

Like strength and will power for us to succeed

Life, like a road we walk along each day

Meeting new faces as we go about our way

But mine was blessed from the very start

With someone special, an understanding heart

A mother, an aunt, a mentor and a friend

In whose presence I have no need to pretend

No pressure, no judgment; sometimes a doubt

But somehow it seems to always work out

From my mind there are moments you would go away

But in my heart you are and will always stay

And when you don’t hear me say ‘I love you’

It doesn’t mean I don’t for I’ll always do

There are no words that could ever explain

How much you mean to this ‘bag of pain’

So just for today I have two words to say

To the best aunt ever….HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
