Song of Silence

Are we thriving on silence?

Do you not think that I know?

I can hear your heart all the way down here

It screams out, shouts, unyielding to your stubbornness woe

Words often spoken, seldom heard

Occupy this room

As I have sang this song before

Yes, I too know this silent tune

Someday I hope you will learn

You cannot hide your heart from this love

For the song of silence takes its toll on the soul

When you’re alone and push comes to shove

That this song will have to play its self out

Is a given, I know this is true

Nevertheless, your hearts lyric gives you away

Unwittingly I’ll sing this song with you

There is one more thing

I’m not sure if you knew

Your song of silence, you choose to sing

Was written by a fool
