Value

Who determines value in our society?

is value the laws and regulations that encompass a steady government?

is value the mailman trudging through abominable weather and terrain

to deliver your new pair of earbuds by hand?

is value the angry, pained eyes of a old friend you've tried to reconnect with over the years

only for the chat box to ache idly again and again?

is value the receipt you receive after paying for a new iPhone?

is value the one who loved you and did nothing to deserve a blanket of your ire

only because you feel the same way but can never express it without demolishing the perception of every memory leading up to now?

is value never forgetting to wash the dishes at your parent's house during the holidays because they took the time and effort to make you another amazing meal?

...is value simply making the meal?

Is value determined by yourself alone? Or by everybody but you, upon you?

Which of love, value, or integrity is worth the most weight in gold?

Is value an answer to your questions?

I do not know

I wish I did

I Wish I Knew Too

But I am leaning toward value as the culmination of love and integrity that is beyond purchase.

I do not know either

I wish more people thought about this.

I cannot speak for everybody

I cannot speak for everybody but I think more often than not, when most people get down to survey their lives in an honest way...maybe before bedtime? ...they do tend to mull some of these things over.  Problem is a lot of the useful dialogue or general catharsis gained in that moment often evaporates before it gets expressed to anybody, so it really seems like people just don't care enough.  Maybe I'm giving them too much credit? I dunno about that either, hah, but thank you either way for the feedback, take care
