This is mental war.

Upon every diminishing factor around us

War on life
War on the actions comprising our life
War on our emotions enveloping our actions
War on our love
War on our spirit
War on our expectations

A war against the colorless
odorless
generic
conformity surrounding your fire

Don't reign anything in
Don't succumb to anything less than your capabilities

Reminisce backward, but evolve forward

Think deeply, with purpose
Provide meaning, and rationale
but don't over-evaluate to the point of paralysis
React boldly, and exude passion on command

Love freely
Love everything you see fit to love
consensually
without anxiety, without doubt
without answers
without the word 'no'

with the puzzle pieces missing from the box
with the radiation unphased by sunblock

care when they won't
when red eyes downward stare
be aware
be alive
be there
be here.

If only we all could see it

If only we all could see it and do something about it

Don't let any one shake your dream stars from your eyes, lest your soul Come away with them! -SS

"Well, it's love, but not as we know it."

IMO

best thing we can try to do is become as self-aware as possible for ourseives and for others we love.  Knowledge provides context and helps mitigate the uncertainties we all endure.  But yea, even that isn't enough sometimes...either way, thank you for the feedback, take care

Exceptional Last Line!

It is a good feeling to read something not sappy or overstated; this was well balanced and quite calming. :D

I admit I deal with bouts of

I admit I deal with bouts of acquiring, then quickly losing the spark to write in a given moment...so the way I try to counter that sometimes is to really throw everything (like this one) down in 10 minutes or less, then I may come back to it in the future and flesh things out.  Haven't returned to this one yet, so there's definitely ..what i interpret to be a feeling of acute immediacy..which kinda eliminates the ability to overthink, or overstate, as you mentioned.  But I appreciate the feedback of course, maybe I'll leave it alone after all? Thanks again

You Might Consider

"fleshing it out" in another series of poems. I know about not writing for a while - I'm almost there. The 365 poem a day challenge is buring creative synapses - stretching. Alas, we have previous writes of yours to keep us company until the fleshing begins. Be well and have peace, you. :D   ~Lady A~

I just added 'consentually'

I just added 'consentually' to that line a few days ago...I felt the line gave off the wrong vibe without it being included, thank you for noticing :)
