I picked you up at your favorite bookstore

Wearing that big red hat and checkered shoes

I could tell she was ready to move

Ready to drive all day if we needed to

 

I said, “Hey baby, where does a boy like me

Take a girl like you for fun?”

She said, “I’m not quite sure, but we’ll get there soon”

Just happened to be skimming over a bunch of old posts in my laptop and came across this little nugget from 12.20.10, was going to be a song but got lost in the shuffle...figured i'd unearth it again in hopes of working on it some more in the future

"I'm not sure,

but we'll get there soon" in a song as the bridge would rock. So many carefree or road song adventures can preceed it. It is the kind of line lyricist dream of writing. Simple and memorable. ~A~
