Light all around
Then darkness follows
Joy should blossom
In sorrow I wallow

Be happy for others
I'm told I should feel
It's all in your head
Trust me, it's real

Broken promises
Lies and deceit
I should walk away
I'm back at their feet

What can I do
With all this pain?
Try as I might
It's all in vain

Give of myself
To help me heal
They'll never approve
Bury and conceal

I wear this mask
Hide it all away
Perhaps one day
Someone will stay

Alone in this world
We all come to be
The person inside
I hope they will see
