the loudest noise in the world is silence

My trashcan poetry

lying in bed on a hot summer night
windows up, curtains open wide
the rain is gently falling on the tin roof
I listen for the footstep's I know will
never come
the loudest noise in the world is silence

These Images Equal A Painting

.
This is such a beautifully executed write, everything is here central theme reiterated throughout, the laziness of the unmentioned breeze in the curtains, the rain on tin like the heart beat heard only inside the silence, the multiple layers of quietude as not quiet environment, as absence, loss, actively waiting and more. Not long, just the essentials. Well crafted piece of art this. It sums up a lot of your writings poignantly. Like the first chapter of a novel or Act One Scene One of the play that is you. - Lady A
