the verge of self destruction

as the sun descends and the night arises
shadows dance on the edge of darkness
where lost souls and the broken hearted are on
the verge of self destruction
fallen from grace left with nowhere to go
reaching out for something that will never be back
I wonder what happened to love that lasts forever?
have you ever laid your head down on the shoulder
of a good friend who's known you forever
one who's seen you walk through the darkest valleys
and back again
then had to look away somehow to hide the way
you feel for them
looking at the man in shattered pieces
only fragments of his life worth remembering
blood on the floor where his heart was once beating
beaten by fate love lays mortally wounded
have you ever love somebody even though it hurt to
have you ever loved someone who you'd have to reach into the heavens to embrace
loved someone who walked away
have you ever laid your head down on the shoulder
of a good friend who's known you forever
had to look away somehow to hide the tears
as the sun descends and the night arises
shadows dance on the edge of darkness
where lost souls and the broken hearted are on
the verge of self destruction

Balanced And Bookcased

Welcome words - just getting better and greater. I call it walking the edge. Why I am reading more and writing less. Word smithing is magical and can not be real, no matter how executed, it is not the experience, only a shadow of the feeling itself. It gets tangled. Fine fine writing, Dan ~Stella~
