i've been on my knees before asking for forgiveness
wondering if anyone is listening
apparently not
to believe in one god or pray to them all
the truth is religions, governments and monarchs
will all eventually fall
we're all chasing a love that's forever true
promises were made and words spoken
nobody realized they were meant to be broken
while the number of zeros on their bank accounts
are critical to some with all the pleasures it will buy
the question at the end of it all that is sure to endure
who did you love
