Love is like that moment of stillness

Folder:
My trashcan poetry

love is like that moment of stillness
in the dawn of morning
as you sit watching the sun rise over the Rockies
it can be such fragile thing that a single word can
shatter it to pieces
an all the kings horses
an all the kings men
can't put a heart together again
or love can be strong
a thing that endures all that's thrown at it
like a deep unyielding current that keeps pushing forward
slowly eroding away at all the obstacles in it's way
through the years we search
some find it but briefly and spend the rest of they're lives
searching in vain for that feeling again
some have found it but had no appreciation an squandered it away
then there's the fools like me who had it for years never knowing
how deep it was till it was still here in the heart but she was gone
don't forget the lucky few who found each other young an seventy
years later their buried side by side
love is like that moment of stillness
in the dawn of morning
as you sit watching the sun rise over the Rockies

Dying beloveds

I miss people who have died - way down there are absence scars and tears just form when I see a picture or remember them. As a survivor (the youngest of four) I had no idea what youngest meant until my brother died. The parents and all their generation are gone and my sister and I are the seniors in the family. I ache physically and emotionally, smile at breathing and walking and finish my life contributing as I can. That's life. ~ Lady A ~

Gone

.

All that is left

is all I will have.

Life seems finite

existence a matter

of levels.

.

I drift between

the molecules

of each day

and condense life

into atomic puzzles

trying to find a

universal God.

.

To live forever

was an idea that

comforted millions

who had a lifespan

of thirty. Life was short.

I may live three times

that long. Into

my last tri-mester,

Wading from pain

to pain, loss to more loss,

the idea of being

earth-gone forever

is thoroughly and

ironically comforting.
