Take a step back

To take in the full picture

So you can see

That the ocean of our love is more than just

Humongous humpback whales and endless nautical trails

Our land of fairy tales is now no more than

a bloodstained bed of rusty nails

Our boat at times will have a bumpy ride

Going against the ocean tide

If the wind suddenly picks up, we can hold onto the unstable rails

Pretending we're waving a white flag as we raise our damaged sails

As long as you're by my side

I believe that we can overcome with a forward stride

We can hope that the train of our future never tragically derails

But the toxic tears falling from our arid eyes have proven once again that

Love always fails



...The vessel of our vows has been hit; stitch the wound shut but the scar never disappears

The blood drips from our hollow hearts and contaminates our ocean of tears...



Take a step forward

To get a closer look

So you can see

How grotesque and surreal reality really is

Then you'll be able to comprehend the fact that

This relationship was more than merely a picnic

Under blue and sunny skies

Our world of fireflies is now simply

A barren bed of lust and lies

If our ship were to sink, I would perish with it

As a captain should respectfully do

Drowning in my own ocean of tears is the only way

To prove that I truly love you

If the depression gets worse, make sure neither one of us cries

Feign a smile and pretend everything will be okay as we wipe the tainted tears from

Each others' eyes

As long as you're here to help me steer the ship through

One day I think we will be able to once again see land and share that splendid view

But the infinite drops of rain falling from the gray skies

Have made us realize

That everything that was once born eventually dies



...On our perpetual path of love, we can navigate and have complete control of where our ship steers

Our decrepit little boat has been though so much, so while it sinks please join me for a suicide swim in our ocean of tears...

To dodge the bullets I'm shooting in your direction

So you can avoid the heartbreak and lesions

That will never heal

At this time the thought will cross your mind that our love

Was no more than just a silly, senseless game

The fire that used to spark our love's frigid flame

Has now been extinguished at our funeral pyre where we buried our relationship's regrets and shame.

The bloodstains on your shirt are really dark

I guess the bullets have finally hit their desired mark

We prayed for help and asked "why", but the messages were never delivered

And the answers never came

We can choose anyone we wish as our scapegoat, but we both know deep down

That we only have ourselves to blame

If the hurt becomes intolerable, we can cover the wound with a band-aid

Holding hands to make believe that the placebos will make the pain quickly fade

While we were floating on cloud nine, I had hoped that one day I could put that glistening ring around your finger

And we could share the same last name

But today I sadly found out that the omega of all relationships are

Exactly the same



...The storm clouds quickly gather overhead and we wave "farewell" to forever, for the tsunami will surely be significant and severe

Today, we bury tomorrow; eternally caught in the atrocious undertow of our ocean of tears...



We can say that our unbreakable bond will hold strong for

years upon years

But the candid truth happens to be that love eventually always ends in tears



...The salt water is as cold as our hibernating hearts and we freeze as we succumb to

Our deepest fears

Hold my hand and lie to me one last time as we forever drown in our ocean of

Toxic and tragic

Tears...
