A Candle's Darkness

A cold dark room filled with many people

a candle in the middle became their steeple

For in their darkness it always would shine

and take their thoughts with the passing time

The people lived and breathed ,laughed and loved

but within the light they only pushed and shoved

they found without the candle they never could see

but with their sight they could never become free

Years have passed, and the candle now dim

The people they sit with no hope to live

all the room is dark, no center to find

they are left with only the confused mind

A warm lit room with fewer people

a mirror in the middle became their steeple

looking at themselves their light was reflected

and the more in the mirror the room was affected

The people lived and breathed, laughed and love

and all were together , noone above

as one persons light would glow

the light of everyone would begin to grow

Years have passed, the room still lit

with the people sharing each others gifts

Within the center they found themselves

never with one candle, we can be ourselves
