I need a hug

To tell me I’m not alone in this world,

To let me know I don’t have to hold it all

By myself.



I need a hug

To pull me from the depths of my despair,

To grasp my hand and pull me from the rapids

As I drown.



I need a hug

To show me there’s someone who loves me,

To show me there’s someone who cares for me and

My feelings.



I need a hug.

I need for you to hold me tightly.

I need you to listen to my hopes and fears

And love me.
