                     In the fields, the towns, the cities,

              Everybody wants to play.  They all know the way.

               The players are stars;

known in homes near and far, all across the state,

        everybody thinks they are great.

Across the plains.  There's one thing nobody needs to explain.

             They see, go to their TVs, they go to the radios.

                           All the talk is about the Jayhawks.

           From Missouri in the east, to Colorado in the west.

                What gets their hearts going in their chests

                They all know.

                       The beast.  The best.
