Dont be afraid of
the dark of night.
You have the power of the light.
The power to make everything bright.
Everything will be alright.
The power of the day.
It can make everything ok.
You can spread your wings. You can sing.
In The Dark
In the absence of energy, I locate a flashlight.
No batteries, I light a candle. The light
is small and waveringly exotic, but just
enough lumens are there to read
a poem or two.
