Sweet Permanence

this is the last straw

the final motive to set me at ease

freedom is a breath of fresh air

though deep within among emotions running rampant,

the strings of my heart are pulled

it's a painful rush

but there is pleasure in pain

so i lay back to enjoy the sudden tidal wave of mixed emotions

and dying essence

meditative breaths

uniform and deep

eases the constriction of resistance

as my body turns to liquid fire

fierce will is long gone

the desire to replace the unwanted with beauty

i killed long ago

there is nothing left to desire

nothing here to pierce these intentions

only the sweet promise of release

and the delicious taste of permanance

last call

no regrets, only wishes that never came true

a final jolt of reality to open my eyes and seize my soul

a final breath to leave my mark

expiration of self

and mind

so ends this tale of delirium

Author's Notes/Comments:

More or less trying to get back to an older style I used to enjoy using. May need some work, but for the most part, I am pleased with the results.

You write very well! Any poem where the words flow well, is a good poem to me! :) :) :)
