You are the air in my lungs -
Bruised, shriveled, useless
After years of asphyxia

You are the blood in my veins,
Dried-up, uninhabitable
After ages of frigid cold

You are the beat of my heart,
Mutilated, scarred, fragmented
After an eternity of loveless encounters

My soul sings at your presence,
Celebrating, elated dancing,
After months of solitary confinement

Silently, with scared lips and breath,
Our bodies intertwined once, twice,
And forever more

You are the smile upon my face,
Warm, inviting, genuine
Long after having forgotten

Liquid pools of chocolate stare at me
In wonderment, excitement, uncertainty
Always searching for answers

Our paths may not always run parallel,
But they are too similar
To ignore your hand in mine

You are the feeling of Ecstasy,
Fixing the cracks, the void
Filling my heart, bringing love back to life.
