My Inner Monologue

Two decades of decay
and still not enough wisdom
to make a solid decision
Take my advice
give it another thought
and think twice
Stuck standing around
with my sober
twenty something indecision
Do the addition
Add up the years
till you think you'll be happy
Then smash that stupid plan
on the rocks
Hindsight will lead you off
Far away from where you need to be
Till your looking around in disbelief
and explaining to your younger self
this is only temporary
Somewhere in that soul is an answer
We just have to weed out the options.

They tell you you'll grow up but never mention how you'll go it alone.

This is very moving actually,

This is very moving actually, I think that kind of life is too accessible and we get o caught up in having things now we don't have the patience to work on something great, diving into quick fixes believing that thousands of these will fill out the hollow, but the putty for it is a different kind one that requires pride in your work and a belief you have the power and the passion to remove obstacles in your way to real satisfaction. Oops sorry, philosophy flashback ;) great points raised in your piece to ponder thanks. Sorry bout the spiel. Cheers SS

No apology neccessary

I enjoyed how well you relate this and I feel the exact same way. I'm glad you picked up a little from where I was coming from!
