Platonic Trouble

It was a cruel concoction-
The fraction of the whole
didn't seem too toxic-
But it soon did take its toll,

It broke down vital compounds
and Chemical reactions
My spinal cord just shut down
now let loose my soul,

 

Somebody better call
911
I swear to god I might
by dying
I can see the vultures
circling me
with Razor beaks
Now I got to ask
Am I a meal or what?

 

All I can see is
A nervous mob of men
They point their fingers
And stare anxiously again,
All they can say is
I'll have what he had-

Looks like a blast.

 

We pick our poisons
to release all our dreams-

My liquid confidant
We're such a fine team

Author's Notes/Comments: 

This was a song I wrote when I was in a band and like a lot of my writing it had a nice cadence so I thought I would share it hear. This isn't the exact same lyrical structure as the song itself but it definitely has a bit of story telling of a drunk on hard times. - September 6th, 2018

Being dyslexic I first read

Being dyslexic I first read it as:
We're such a fine team
My liquid confidant and me

Then read:
My liquid confidant
We're such a fine team

Thought my first read was awsome lol! ;) just a bit of ribbing He he.

Yeah that sounds better the way you read it but the grammar nazi in me would have been pressing me on "I" instead of "me". Haha.
