Fishing For Dreams

Folder:
Rhyming Poetry

We cast our hopes out carefully,

testing the murky tides.

With bated breath, we wait it out,

rolling with the waves we ride.

We feel that tug upon the line

and cautiously reel it in.

Sometimes we only get that old boot,

much to our chagrin.

But there are times we're satisfied,

with the dreams we catch.

We pull up something wonderful,

from the dangling bait we attach.

If you don't get what your wishing for,

you can always toss it back.

Just remember when your fishing for dreams,

to give your line some slack.
