Tears Of Red, White and Blue

On that September 11'th,
I had more pride than I knew.
For on that day I cried,
Tears of Red, White and Blue.

They fell so effortlessly,
Streaming down my face.
I cried out my sorrow
In an uncontrollable pace.

The grief I felt,
Couldn't be contained.
My anger and hate,
Could not be restrained.

I cried for those lost,
Those I never even knew.
Flooding down my face-
Tears of Red, White and Blue.

The horror and anguish,
Left me quite numb.
Just what kind of world
Have we become?

Those innocent people,
Unaware of their fate.
Many would never know,
The impact of that date.

I cried for the heroes,
Who died seemingly in vain.
Trying to help those trapped,
Or suffering in pain.

I cried because I'm American,
And that's what humans do.
And I'll never forget the day I cried,
Tears of Red, White and Blue.

May those lost always be

May those lost always be remembered in our hearts, souls and yes those tears of red, white and blue.

A fine write and tribute. Thank you.

Thank you. All these years

Thank you. All these years later and I still cry those tears of red, white and blue...
