I struggled for a grip,

tried to take ahold.

The ground held me fast,

thick and cold.

It surrounded my body,

limb by limb.

It pulled me down faster,

the harder I'd swim.

I heard my life pass,

it rolled by like thunder.

Storming through my ears,

just before I went under.
