Coffee, Black

you had to let me know it was darker than your usual
like coffee
your poetry is the only thing that could help me wake up
what would it convey
if I said your words could raise armies of the dead souls
on autopilot barely thinking their way through life?
would it make a difference to you?
Be more impressive?
Be grandeur because of its impact?
In comparison to the 16 year never older girl
coming back to pour over your words
for 20 years and a day
pouring down
drinking it
soaking it up
feeling it in her blood
like coffee
