Aquatic Sex

Soft bubbles slide across our skin and disappear in the water above

While you and I happily drown in our passion for making love

So little light makes it past the waves I can barely see your face

But I feel your arms almost painfully in your clinging, slightly terrified embrace

Your arms, so white, your hair so black, eyes so deeply brown

The last colors I will ever see as we ever so slowly sink down

Past the last bit of light that reaches as I, to caress your tear streaked face

And hold you almost painfully in a protective, overwhelming embrace

My arms like steel, your skin so fragile but I will never let you go

The water so black, you white and pure, the only colors we now know

The darkness below us joins our embrace and caresses us with her night

As cowardly bubbles race past us airward towards the recently departed light

Your arms so soft, your hair brushing my face, your fingers exploring around

The last things I will ever feel, as we ever so slowly sink down

The darkness above us grows deeper and warm with no stars to break up our night

As ticklish bubbles roll over our skin and support us in our aquatic flight

Something stirs deeper in me and I recreate these feelings in you

With agonizing slowness I pull you down to the last thing we'll ever do

The soft silt of the ocean floor catches us and we lie down

In ticklish sand we roll and play knowing with our next breath we'll drown

The hair on my chest, my arms and my legs press roughly to your ivory skin

Scratching and itching and planting desire ever so deeply within

Something stirs a little deeper inside as I uncover those feeling in you

With your tender beauty, I joyously drown in making love to you

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is either the third or fourth version of this one. It's stll not quite where I want it, though.

Donald, I am truly stunned. I haven't read anything lately on this site that captivated me much like this. You use words to your fullest and I love your style.
Always,

Donald,
Very erotic and sensual poem...With your words you paint a very sensual ending of two lovers using their last breath making love to each other... How beautiful.
Very beautiful poem.

What an odd piece... but very well thought of and written good. I've heard of sex on the beach, but sex UNDER the beach is quite a new one.

i love the comments by nanook. funny. i just thought it was very creative...kinda made me hold my breath reading it...wondering why this would be their fate...but, i guess there are lots of answers for that. : )

Donald, Hi! Good poem. I like the ending or should I say the idea that the ending represents. The thought that you would drown in love making with the girl over and over again is good. Maybe rewording the ending a little would help you with your dilemma. BYe! Teresa

Hmmm... Nice, innovative thought, but the ending creeps me out a little, I never thought sex was to die for. And drowning is another of my fears. I'm sure you meant to startle me by coupling the ecstacy of sex and my innermost fears of death. You did. Note to readers: Don't try this at home (copulation underwater). Seriously, air bubbles or water can lodge in the uterus, travel to other areas inward, and cause exquisite pain and in severe cases, death ... just what happens in this lovely poem. I'm not just fetishing here, honest, folks.

I love this poem, the images you paint are vivid. If I were you I would watch my word usage in this poem. There are areas in which the flow is interupted. This happens to me all of the time. Try to read it aloud, be brutal, let some of the lines change. It is hard, I know. But by changing some of the lines you will end up with a poem you love. The ends justifying the means I guess. If you would like any help editing, just email me. I would be honoured to help, this is an amazing product of your imagination. It's nice to meet you Donald. :) aly
