Too Yellow

The yellow sunflower hands

Jutted out with knives

Prepared for my eyes

They stood guard by your door

The mark of a winning smile

And a man in love

Mine couldn't have been so nice

Mine were too wild

And a little too red

I thought

Mine were for the curb

For my pocket

And the man you never heard about

Not in any story

The man that kept his in hand

And walked away

I thought

But mine were mine

And my heart was hers

And so should these

Wild flowers that

Didn't look just right

And couldn't help being

Just a little too red

So here

These yellow hands

Can't turn mine away

And besides

Don't you think

They look a little too

Yellow?

Yellow

Yellow is a good color. Better when there is a lot of it and it is bright. But maybe orange catches my fancy more.

Enjoyed reading this.
