Bathtub Nights

Tonight

I'll sleep

And tomorrow

Remember

I swear

Tonight

I found myself

In my usual place

Sprawled spine-bent

In my tear puddled

Empty eyed

Pearly white

Tub

Wrapped quietly

In it's cold handless

Skin so soft and false

One arm fallen bent

Resting on the cracked floor

Fingers loosely gripping a bottle of clear fire

It numbs my eyelids

And my beaten chest

And the cold tub

Almost feels friendly

It washes down

The visions of tonight

The voices

Washes them to settle in my gut

To arise with tomorrows moon

One of these days

I'll smash it

The bottle

And realize

I haven't had a night of winter

And the visions and voices

Have learned to swim

Yes

One of these days

I'll smash it all

The bottle

The tub

The visions

The voices

And i will learn to swim

I swear
