All of my life YOU'VE been around
Even when I'd lose sight of path and priority
YOU could always be found
When life seems to elude me
Indecisiveness seems to confuse me
And satan's arms await to embrace me
There YOU are
Knowing what to do - even when I don't
Showing me the "how to's" of survival
When others won't
Teaching me to stand once again
When I thought I couldn't
Replenishing the well of my existence
When I thought it wouldn't
With YOU
Things are not always as they seem
When my vision is blurred
My way is lost
And "the end" toys within my reach
*Just when I think that tomorrow has forgotten*
And the road seems longer and longer
It dawns on me that all I have to do
Is ask of YOU
And the mere thought of that
Makes me stronger and stronger
Within my life
All of those things that others claim to be
YOU have always been
GENUINELY
The only counsel of my life that has always been right
The only coach that has never let me give up without a fight
The only friend that has never let me down
Or travelled all around the world just to create me a frown
The only Man in my life that has never left me hanging
So unlike the average 'brotha' who seems to only think of "banging"
All of these figures within my life
YOU are consistently
Positively
And more
And I must try never to forget
But remember what and why
I am so thankful for
YOU GOD.......
