Why?

Why the hell should I?

Why do I have to pretend I believe

in what is not really true?

Do you?

You know..

Do you believe that if you think it

everything won't seem so bad?

And if you want something hard enough

present situations won?t seem so sad?

Self made illusions

to help one cope with the reality

of just how short that rope really is

Even a fool can see

what differs a forest from a tree

So, since time is not yours anyway

though I am sure you believe it is

Embellish the moments you have remaining

with lots of wisdom

love

and care

And step out onto faith

if your soul is rich enough

to afford the fare

You see

the ride may be long

but it damn sho? ain?t free

If you really want to get somewhere

you've got to know

what you believe
