He cares for Good and Bad

He sends His rain and shine to good and bad,

The river of His bounty ever flows,

To keep His handiwork, creation fed,

And oversees its flowering and growth.

He fills the empty vessels to the brim,

Fills them according to capacity,

Those wide and tall, and others small and slim,

Extent and space determines quantity.

Big ships and vessels can accommodate

Substantial cargos and perhaps some more,

While small and slighter vessel may frustrate

The packing efforts of the stevedore.

In nature too, the high and lordly pine

Absorbs more than the moor grown buttercup,

And drinks in more of rain and sunny shine,

To well provide the tree with nurturing sap.

On smaller glasses rims would overflow,

To waste would go the liquor strong and sweet

And waste of it may mean and a grievous blow,

To hosts that have a multitude to feed.

As much as it could take the glass received

To its capacity filled  to the brink,

Of the sweet life-sustaining sap,- His gift

His ever flowing gifts of food and drink.

He gives to all with generosity

Without distinction rain and sunny shine,

But varied much is the capacity

To make the needed space for gifts divine.

He gives to all in His benignity,

His rain and sun shine both to good and bad,

But blessed he that uses thankfully

The generous gifts and by His word is fed.
