Killing Innocence

I saw her every morning,

A girl within the glass

She was too good and fair to me

Those days are years of past

I respected her for

She never lied to me

Perfection swallowed her

Along with her beauty

She got lost within the waves of time

I haven't seen her since that night

I broke the glass in envy

And honesty leaked out

I went back to the lake

And there she was--

The little girl I drowned

In penitence I came back one night

But morbid was the childless sight

An old woman meets me now
