Black Rose

Pull the petals off one by one
Still turns out she loves you not
Leave the petals on the ground
Flip a coin into a well
And wish
And hope
And beg
And pray

That she'll love you somehow, someday

How can you expect to get a happy answer
How can you expect to live happily ever after
When you're plucking petals from a black rose
And the well you're wishing in is shallow

Snatch another rose from the bush
Rip of the petals,
She loves you not
Dump your piggy bank into the well
Pray she'll love you someday, somehow

How can you expect to get a happy answer
How can you expect to live happily ever after
When you're plucking petals from a black rose
And the well you're wishing in is shallow

How can you expect it
Tell me,
How the hell can you expect it
When the rose is black
