Stood up

It was a moonlight night, so beautiful
I had reserved us a table at the finest restaurant in town
There were candles and a beautiful rose on the table, waiting
for the loved one who would never arrive

The reservation was to begin at 8:00
It was now 8:15, I was getting worried
But I just knew you would come
I loved you, and didn't know you didn't share the feeling

It was now 8:32
I could feel my anger brimming at you
Yet, I still had hope
You are my girlfriend, and I know you will show

At 8:45, I was in tears
you had confirmed all of my fears
I waited for you here for almost an hour
and I had been excited for over a week.

At 9:00, I was already home
I was reading a book about the size of a tome
I trusted you, and you broke that trust
You won't see me again, you stood me up on dinner,
I'm standing you up on life

We've been going out for a while, and this was an important date, but she really couldn't make it, so I forgave her.
I don't see why she couldn't text me, but I love her, so it's all good!
I don't know what I would do without her...so i guess I was kind of angry when I wrote this.

Tiny Retributions

  • ~~That immature lad feels life has once more betray him and payback is the response, but as a matured male, aware of human shortcomings, you keep tabs to make certain the pattern is not a permanent one requiring more severe correction. No phone call, a flip remark, a serious disrespect in public...a man must take the lead and become the true head of his potential household. ~~A~~
