                                  Battle Soldier

Gutsy, rugged, muscular, flamboyant youth

The dedicated battle soldier serves his country

Lured by lucrative remuneration , free rations

Leaves behind home hearth with flaming emotions

Wearing hard, heavy steel-toed battle boots

The battle soldier stands stolid and motivated

Feels like Goliath standing on a platform elevated

Sharp, hypnotized stare gun in hand feels elated

Battalion of different coloured soldiers he spies

Raises the merciless gun shoots with patriot hued eyes

Another gutsy, rugged, muscular, flamboyant soldier

Rib cage shattered, oozes blood a “patriot” falls

Grinning vultures ogle on CCTV “they have built the walls”

Battle Soldier:

An emotive subject war! To trade through treaty and politic better. As many aim for control of land and it's populaces through warfare and oppression. Your writing in this poem makes this self evident. There has to be a better way to go about it all. Liked your writing a good read.
