Sea Words

Why why did words flee from my head

When I saw the wonders of the mighty sea

I strolled along its sandy banks pristine beaches

Blue water I saw as far as my human eye reaches

I let the sand sift through my palms sitting calm

Afternoon sun was low west and just little warm

A solitary walk I took with my ankles in the brine

Sea air brushed matted hair grey with passage of time

Broken sea shells pricked my hardened soles

Small fish skeletons buried in sand beside crab holes

A peace descended as the weary sun set on the day

Someday I’ll walk into the sea and soul’ll clear away

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
