Reflections

Walking along the streets I gaze, look, glance

At the eyes of people walking on both sides

Most do not have the merriness ,the shine

Grim eyes,tensed eyes,determined eyes

Eyes reflecting my own feelings and thoughts

But the barrier of hesitation separates me

Prevents me from communicating with them

Those eyes of those Special people

Who maybe could be my good friends

Something which we could share

Simple talk over some trivials or serious

Which plagues us all - but the hesitation

What if I am rebuked ,spurned, thrust aside

A pair of eyes beside me at the bus stop

I try to break the ice , I ask the time

The hesitating barrier is broken, then silence

People travelling for long hours together

Do not talk to one another- they are afraid!

Afraid of their sast-iron masks ripped off

Afraid of denuding themselves of thoughts

What may be the reason of the deathly silence

Silence in the railway coach.... I travel alone

I see my own proud,hesitant,self..... reflected

Reflected silently in the eyes of co-passengers

Someday I'll be free from hesitation

Show my sparkling eyes beneath my spectacles

Open up conversation with all I meet on my way

Beautiful minds which I pass along in my day
