Retirement

I woke up on a new years eve

On this day I shall take my leave

From my busy schedule;hectic workdays

The thrill of which I'll remember always

I'll hear good words ; they'll remind me

With sweet gifts and flowers for me to see

They'll make me the centre of attraction

My sorrows they wont share even a fraction

My voice may tremble ; my eyes wet

Though inside me I know they'll soon forget

I loved you all ; I shared your joy

My stern behaviour was just a ploy

Excuse me for my words and deeds

Forget the bitterness which you had for me

Forgive my rebukes bid goodbye in glee

From tomoorow onwards I'll again be free
