Masquerade

Do flowers and leaves wear masks?

Does the sun,the moon, the stars need masks?

For the civilized taking masks off is a tough task

The crippled man with the artificial leg...

The wood is his real self , his smile is fake

He curses those around him.Who does his destiny make?

The toddler next door laughing and giggling

To him living is all fun, frolic, chocolates and cake

He hasn't grown the mask to hide behind

That anger on his mother's face is a mask

To make him a "good boy" earn the love of all

The kid would love to roll in the slush ,play football

Trash! trash ! that teenage birthday party

Spidermen.Frogmen,Supermen,Bunnies

The delicious cake is cut--dinner is served

Masks are ripped off ,children jump to the food

They are smiling and happy, masks off for good

Where is the door leading to the maskless realm?

Sweet smelling talcum powder deodorant spray

Trendy,stylish garb,bright and colourful

Shiny brown leather pumps.. jewelled ring

Headphones on ears ..music piercing the brain

Glossy leather handbag song on the lip

Without these masks..you'll look in disdain
