Natures Way

Undulating terrain, tufts of dewy green grass
Wild pink flowers growing in unkempt shrubs abound
Cattle grazing feeding swishing tails
Sprightly dragon flies buzzing gauzy transparent hair-ribbed wings
Tiny red ants crawling in queue looking for food
Peace reigned all around- I couldn’t help feeling good

Lone mango tree spent and tired after the seasons labour
Like a lady after childbirth- its soul is now hungry
The tree’s soul sucks food from the soil with its roots
And leaves in tandem manufacture nourishing baby food
Unlike the neo-mother the tree is unattached to its fruits
Its leaves sway tired in the tired mid-morning breeze
The azure sky darkens into a morbid grey
The pangs of fruitbirth the rain washed away.
